It hasn't been as frequent but still does take off on its own. I thought it was the touchpad so I bought a wireless mouse to see if it would stop. It would open several applications where I cannot close them without the cursor. I run MalwareBytes and AVG each at least 1x/week. Since I bought this laptop the cursor would take off and move all over. (I also have MalwareBytes Free and a Microsoft antivirus utility that came with Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, I think. Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2 Once it starts, the only way I've found to make it stop is to shut down and restart, but that takes a long time, and it always eventually starts again. I can try to navigate using only arrow keys, and it messes up anything I try to highlight. It keeps jumping whether or not I use either form of mouse. It's nearly impossible to click on anything because it moves so fast. With that I can move the cursor horizontally, but not vertically. But once it starts doing this, the cursor pad on the laptop stops working right. When using the mouse I can move the cursor normally, except it moves on its own as well. It isn't caused by the mouse - it continues without any change when I unplug the mouse. Once it starts it usually goes nonstop, though sometimes it stops for a few minutes before starting again. It's happening right now, though.Īt random, my cursor will start jumping back and forth, left to right, sometimes almost halfway across the screen in one jump, sometimes only millimeters. I have had a problem with my cursor on my laptop for nearly as long as I've owned it (about a year) but it comes at random, it's not very frequent, and I can't reproduce it, so I haven't come here for help before.
